Position Overview:

The X-Ray & Medical Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by:

  • Ensuring high-quality X-ray images are captured in accordance with established protocols efficiently and accurately.
  • Documenting patient encounters thoroughly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) promptly.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting standard X-ray examinations within the recommended timeframes:
  • Chest X-ray: 3 minutes
  • Extremity X-ray: 3-5 minutes per order
  • Spinal X-ray: 4-6 minutes
  • Abdomen X-ray: 4-6 minutes
  • Utilizing internal X-ray and care coordination software for proper documentation and communication of X-ray studies among providers, Aftercare, and radiologists.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR for multiple patients each hour.
  • Facilitating necessary diagnostic tests (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasounds) and referrals to specialists for follow-up care.
  • Assisting physicians with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice, including EKGs and procedure setups.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under the guidance of the physician.
  • Supporting licensed practitioners with CLIA waived tests and EKGs, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Managing materials for copying images to CDs and notifying staff about supply levels.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date quality assurance logbook, including pregnancy forms and daily checklists.
  • Being knowledgeable about contacts for equipment or software issues.
  • Providing compassionate care to patients.
  • Assisting Medical Assistants with inventory management as needed.
  • Helping train and acclimate new X-ray technologists and scribes.
Qualifications:
  • Internal candidates must maintain good performance and adhere to company policies.
  • Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.
  • 4-6 months of experience as an X-ray Technologist.
  • Ability to explain procedures and position patients for X-rays while ensuring minimal radiation exposure.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in various computer systems.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to foster a supportive environment.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding results and compassion for patients.
  • Exceptional communication and bedside manner.
  • Commitment to assisting others in an urgent care context.
  • Bilingual skills may be required or preferred based on location.
Physical Requirements:
The role may involve lifting light to moderate weights and requires extensive computer use.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $37.50-$40/hr, including a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
