ICU Physician Assistant

As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the ICU setting. Your duties will include attending to newly admitted patients, communicating with intensivists, and participating in the evaluation and treatment of patients in acute distress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attending to newly admitted patients and performing history and physicals
- Communicating with intensivists on duty and on call
- Rounding on assigned patients and participating in the evaluation and treatment of patients in acute distress
- Initiating completion of death certificates and maintaining accurate medical records
- Performing procedures such as ABGs, IV insertions, and central line insertions
- Establishing and maintaining good communication and working relationships with hospital staff
Qualifications include:
- Registration to practice in New York State
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Current ACLS and BLS certification
Preferred qualifications include:
- 1-2 years of experience in hospital-based medicine and/or family practice
- Critical care experience as an APP
Pay rate: $90.00/hour per diem rate.
