Travel Nurse RN Manager

Tact Staff is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN Manager to join our team in Brooklyn, New York.
Job Summary:The Travel Nurse RN Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the Nursing Department and the implementation of standards to ensure the delivery of Quality Care. This role will act on behalf of the Director of Nursing in their absence and will be responsible for participating in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for resident care.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for resident care.
- Interpret departmental and institutional policies and procedures to staff, residents, families, and the community.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to assess staffing needs and formulate staff schedules.
- Collect, analyze, and present statistical data as required.
- Assist in budget planning and preparation; monitor cost of supplies and utilization of staff.
- Coordinate activities related to resident care services between nursing and other disciplines.
- Conduct investigations related to suspected resident abuse, misconduct, neglect, and resident care problems and present findings to the Director of Nursing.
- Assume leadership role in Performance Improvement program in the facility.
- Review the 24-hour nursing report to determine the effectiveness of nursing interventions and to identify resident care issues.
- Makes rounds regularly to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and to assess the quality of resident care.
- Conduct periodic rounds with Director of Nursing or members of Administrative staff to appraise selected units or overall function of department.
- Work closely with Staff Education Department to assess staff learning needs and plans programs to meet those needs.
- Act as a clinical resource in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Evaluate, annually and as needed, performance of Nurse Managers and Administrative Nursing Care Coordinators.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of nursing panel.
- Meet weekly with Nurse Managers and Administrative Nursing Care Coordinators to address concerns regarding resident care/services, staffing issues, and labor management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
- Attend conferences and meetings to maintain current knowledge of long-term care issues.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in preparation of NYSDOH survey.
- In an emergency, perform other duties necessary for the welfare of the residents or the efficient operation of the facility.
- Three years of progressive experience in Nursing Administration.
- Documented competence in caring for persons with AIDS.
- Knowledge of MDS required.
- N/A
- M.S. in Nursing or a Masters in a related health care field preferred.
- Completion of an Orientation Program in caring for persons with AIDS.
- New York State RN License.
