Job Responsibilities- Lead Bridge Inspection Team: Oversee and coordinate bridge inspection activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop Inspection Schedules: Plan and schedule field activities, including coordination with clients, railroads, police agencies, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
- Assign and Supervise Team Members: Assign tasks and supervise team members during field activities and office tasks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Prepare Health & Safety Plans: Develop and implement health and safety plans, traffic control plans, and ensure safe field operations.
- Perform Technical Field Inspections: Conduct technical field inspections of complex and signature bridges and related structures, adhering to National Bridge Inspection and Federal Railroad Administration Standards.
- Operate Specialized Equipment: Operate specialized bridge inspection access equipment, including manlifts, bucket trucks, and under-bridge cranes, as required.
- Document Inspection Findings: Accurately document inspection findings, including notes, sketches, and digital photographs, encompassing all defects located.
- Evaluate Bridge Defects: Evaluate the seriousness of bridge defects and make on-the-spot decisions as required.
- Interact with Clients and Stakeholders: Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and equipment vendors in a confident and professional manner.
- Prepare Inspection Reports: Prepare accurate, complete inspection reports in accordance with industry standards and applicable agency manuals.
- Ensure Professional Certifications: Ensure all professional licenses and bridge inspection certifications are current.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering/Engineering Technology
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MD or CT
- 5+ Years of Bridge Inspection Experience
- Valid, Unrestricted Driver's License
- FHWA/NHI Certifications
- ANSI 92.24/92.22 Mobile Elevated Work Platforms/Snooper Training
- OSHA Fall Protection and Confined Space Certification
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Ability to Mentor
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to Work Effectively with Little Supervision
- Availability to Travel Throughout the Continental US and Abroad
