Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Engineer to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of our commercial property's mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, installed systems, equipment, and components.
  • Monitor building automation systems (BAS) to ensure efficient building operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance mechanics and outside contractors.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance activities and building operations.
  • Respond to tenant service requests and address issues promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee energy management and sustainability initiatives to improve building efficiency.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as-found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
  • General maintenance, including painting, hanging doors, repairs to office furniture systems, and doors.
  • Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies that align with the organization's goals, focusing on sustainability and optimal performance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 years of relevant trade experience and 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Universal EPA-CFC Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb up to 30 ft. ladders.
  • Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
