Assistant Director, Hair Color Bar

As the Assistant Director at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a flawless client journey from the moment they arrive until they leave. This position is vital for enhancing team performance and enriching the client experience by understanding their unique expectations and needs. You will serve as the authority on Madison Reed's offerings, including consultations, color treatments, hair care products, and membership programs, while also providing hands-on services and leading the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, mentor, and support the Hair Color Bar team on a daily basis.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate employee schedules in alignment with business forecasts and requirements.
  • Manage labor and budgetary considerations based on market trends.
  • Engage with clients to provide a unique and enjoyable experience tailored to their diverse needs, fostering ongoing client relationships.
  • Actively participate in service delivery roles, including Colorist and Associate Colorist.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts in collaboration with talent acquisition to attract new team members.
  • Develop team members to reflect the diversity of our clientele and workforce.
  • Coach and nurture team members to promote a positive culture, client satisfaction, and overall performance by aligning individual strengths with relevant responsibilities.
  • Address and resolve client service issues promptly, including feedback from surveys.
  • Ensure that the organization and presentation of the Hair Color Bar meet company standards.
  • Account for and maintain all company assets, including inventory and equipment.
  • Utilize Madison Reed systems to effectively manage operations and drive sales.
  • Work flexible shifts to support business needs, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year in operational management, with at least 2 years in a service-focused environment.
  • Cosmetology/Hairdressing license required based on state regulations.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and experience with POS systems preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves standing or walking for extended periods, as well as bending, twisting, and lifting light weights. Team members may occasionally need to sit, kneel, or lift heavier items.
