Job Summary

As a Clinical Athletic Trainer at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in providing professional assistance and clinical support to healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of quality, evidence-based healthcare services. You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive healthcare programs for patients, clients, and athletes, ensuring the highest level of care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patients as directed by physicians and other providers, utilizing your professional ability and independent judgment to facilitate efficient and effective patient flow through the clinic.
  • Evaluate patients' physical condition, response, and progress to treatment, and discuss with appropriate physicians and/or physician extenders to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Administer medication and injections to patients in accordance with licensure and policy, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and care.
  • Interface with student athletes, parents, physicians, athletic trainers, and auxiliary medical personnel to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts and circumstances of athletes' condition status, exercising discretion and independent judgment when appropriate.
  • Provide patient instruction in conjunction with physicians and other providers, developing and reviewing patient home exercise programs to ensure optimal recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, work area, equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in athletic training or a related field.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in athletic training or a related field, or completion of a CAATE-approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in all aspects of athletic training.
  • CRT-Athletic Trainer, Certified - BOC Board of Certification and Accreditation.
  • LIC-Athletic Trainer License - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross.
