Job Overview

Allegiance Staffing is seeking a skilled precision grinder operator for a manufacturing facility.

Shift:
6am-6pm, Monday to Friday

Compensation:
$17-$20 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Requirements:
Candidates should possess experience in grinding, CNC operations, or metal fabrication, with a preference for those having at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate grinding machinery with a 30-inch wheel, selecting appropriate grinding wheels based on knowledge of metal characteristics and abrasives.
  • Grind rolls with a diameter of up to 2,000mm and lengths of 14,000mm.
  • Install wheels onto hubs.
  • Conduct roll and track measurements.
  • Maintain precise tolerances in microns.
  • Utilize and care for various precision measuring and inspection tools.
  • Verify roll diameters.
  • Perform hardness and smoothness assessments.
  • Execute daily maintenance on machines and equipment, including routine oil and filter changes, greasing, and maintaining service records.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in automotive mechanics preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers, including metric systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using powered hand tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with lift trucks and overhead cranes is a plus.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50-60 lbs and working extended shifts on concrete surfaces.
  • Willingness to undergo training for the operation of all machinery.
