$190,000 - $220,000 USD per annum is the estimated salary for this role. As Principal Software Engineer or Architect, you will be responsible for our data platform efforts, processing large volumes of customer data in batches or real-time pipelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and implement complex software and frameworks to deliver security analytics features.
  • Define best practices for SaaS development to release and deliver complex functionality with minimal impact on customers.
  • Influence and shape future products by contributing to the architecture/framework across multiple product lines.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to meet scalability and growth targets, create prototypes, and execute phased development and deployment plans.
  • Lead a team of software engineers in a cross-functional environment to deliver on complex projects.
  • Lead engineering efforts on customer issues, identify root causes, and deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

  • BSc/BEng/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in distributed systems environments.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, C/C++, or another modern OOP language used for scalable distributed system backend development.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and caching technologies like Redis.
  • Data analytics pipeline development for structured/semi-structured/unstructured data (security analytics preferred).
  • Cloud native development experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Delivery of software with observability built-in, including creation of observability dashboards, metrics, alerts, and more using tools like NewRelic, Splunk, and DataDog.
  • Building data platforms, batches, or real-time data pipelines.
  • Messaging or streaming processing expertise, including Kafka, AWS Kinesis/SQS, or Flink.
  • Kubernetes experience running on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
