Key Responsibilities
  • Coordination of Care
    • Communicate with coaches, athletes, parents, team physicians, and Sports Medicine Institute staff to ensure seamless care and treatment.
  • Athletic Injury Evaluation
    • Conduct thorough and accurate evaluations of athletic injuries, providing first aid and immediate care as needed.
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Play Programs
    • Develop, implement, and oversee rehabilitation and return to play programs for athletes, ensuring a safe and effective return to competition.
  • Patient Records and Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of athletic injuries, referrals, and treatment plans.
  • Training and Education
    • Participate in educational outreach programs to promote injury prevention and conditioning programs for local schools, youth sports organizations, and community groups.
  • Injury Prevention and Treatment
    • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies, including the recommendation of conditioning programs and monitoring of environmental conditions.
  • Patient Care and Protocols
    • Work within established Sports Medicine protocols to ensure proper treatment and return-to-play procedures.
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • 1 year of experience in Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation or Athletic Training
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in Indiana or Illinois
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) certification
Travel Requirements

Travel is required for this position, but the frequency is minimal.
