We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Electric Grid Infrastructure Services group, you will be responsible for designing and developing transmission lines for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range
  • Conduct cost analyses and develop design criteria for transmission line projects
  • Route and site transmission lines, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies
  • Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components
  • Direct small project teams and mentor less experienced staff
Requirements:
  • ABET-accredited engineering degree
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD software
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission line design and development
  • Knowledge of design codes and standards, including NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current PE license or ability to acquire one within one year
  • Experience in developing engineering proposals and cost estimates
  • Experience with scheduling and project management
  • Proficiency with additional software, such as PLS-TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
