Transportation Operations Excellence Manager

At Bozzuto's Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Continuous Improvement Lead to join our team. This is a critical role that will play a key part in driving quality, efficiency, and effectiveness across our transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead or participate in projects to implement new processes and technologies in the Transportation Department.
- Evaluate current organizational processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for operational improvement and efficiency gains.
- Lead or participate in Kaizen events and Gemba Walks to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement solutions and follow up to sustain gains.
- Implement and support the 5S Program to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and propose practical solutions, including process redesign, automation, or technology enhancements.
- Facilitate change management efforts by communicating proposed improvements, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation.
- Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement projects, employing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to drive ongoing process enhancements.
- Provide clear work instructions, training, and design systems to promote sustainability of improvements.
- Develop a continuous learning mindset to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the transportation industry and in Continuous Improvement.
- Facilitate team meetings and lead teams to implement methods of measuring and holding gains in processes.
- Improve the overall efficiency and functioning of Bozzuto's Transportation and Operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and implement transportation network procedures, including routing and dispatching.
- Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Business, or relevant experience.
- Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- Preferred: One year of experience in a transportation environment with hands-on knowledge of relevant systems.
- Warehouse Grocery: approximately 50F - 90F.
- Warehouse Perishable: approximately 26F - 60F.
- Warehouse Freezer: approximately 0F - -20F.
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; drive accountability for safe practices throughout shifts.
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 75lbs; ability to operate required facility equipment; ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the day; walking on various flooring types.
- Strong communication skills: Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback; communicate expectations and directions clearly.
- Building a team-based environment: Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills; inclusive decision-making.
- Project Management: Results-driven regarding implemented KPIs/Metrics; willingness to participate in continuous improvement projects; managing multiple deadline-based projects.
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives.
