Principal Mechanical Engineer

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead our Raleigh, NC office's Healthcare department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-level direction to senior mechanical engineering staff, ensuring successful project completion, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership to mechanical discipline managers, ensuring effective office operations and successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide full-range services to clients, including mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering.
  • Develop and implement mechanical standards, practices, and guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
  • Engineer of Record on select projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
  • Coordinate with client/project managers and department managers to resolve mechanical engineering conflicts and ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 25+ years of technical experience in the design of healthcare systems, with a proven track record of managing technical teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, with a Professional Engineer's license.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience in the design of institutional, educational, and laboratory projects, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and building codes.
