Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Vascular Stepdown/Intermediate Care Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates. Relocation can be provided.

This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. The 11-week Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in IMC areas.

Shift Available: Full Time (36 hours per week) Day Shift (7a-7p)

What we are:

9 Kaufman is a 24-bed stepdown intermediate care unit that specializes in vascular surgery, telemetry, and renal/pancreas transplant patients. Staffing is comprised of RNs, LPNs, NCPs (nursing care partners), and UAs (unit ambassadors) and CSAs (clinical support associates).

What we do:

Some of 9 Kaufman's vascular surgeries include aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral bypass surgeries, and amputations. 9 Kaufman is an extension of the renal/pancreas transplant team to include the outpatient transplant center and all the nurses on 9 Kaufman are specially trained and can sit for the PCCN certification which we will help you obtain.

Nurse to patient ratio on 9 Kaufman is 1:4.

Qualifications:

  • RN License
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
