Job Title: Yard Parts Remover

At LKQ Corporation, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Yard Parts Remover to join our team. As a Yard Parts Remover, you will be responsible for removing parts from vehicles in our yard, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting all operational processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive labels from supervisors for parts to be removed.
  • Pull, retrieve, and inspect parts from vehicles in the yard.
  • Notify supervisors of any damage or issues with parts.
  • Stage parts for delivery drivers.
  • Operate a forklift or order selector to transport parts in and around the warehouse.
  • Sort and place parts and supplies on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
  • Respond to customer counter sales immediately by receiving orders, pulling products, and loading them into customer vehicles.
  • Verify in-stock positions on products for inside sales staff.
  • Classify all returns according to integrity and condition of parts, and prepare necessary forms for inventory adjustments.
  • Check in defective parts and enter them into the computer system for return to vendors.
  • Sign off on all delete tickets, providing explanations for the reasons.
  • Load trucks according to delivery schedules and perform final checks of parts loaded.
  • Put wheel cores in staging areas for return to remanufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Self-Service Essential Job Duties:

  • Operate a forklift or loader to assist in moving cars from processing to the yard.
  • Clean out debris from cars before they enter the processing area.
  • Pull out batteries to be tested and resold, bringing charged batteries to the retail area.
  • Work with loader operators to stage cars or pull cars in the yard properly.
  • Walk the yard and place debris in cars being removed from the yard.
  • Dismantle tires.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensure all EPA and OSHA regulations are met.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ's quality improvement system.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a forklift and meet medium-level physical exertion requirements, including lifting to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Basic math and reading skills to perform job tasks and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and be willing to work long hours when necessary.
  • Display a positive, helpful demeanor, and a commitment to providing the best in customer service.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and an office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights. Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels and occasional inclement driving conditions.
