About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Lynchburg, VA or Charlotte, NC. As a key member of our Installed Base Business Unit, you will be responsible for performing complex engineering assignments, providing technical support, and offering engineering advice to ensure the successful planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining of structures, systems, and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, perform broad, complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity, and the development of new methods.
  • Provide advanced technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining structures, systems, and components.
  • Offer engineering advice as needed and display technical competence requiring minimal direction from higher-level engineering staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with an advanced degree in a similar field being a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an engineering role, with a strong background in Civil/Structural analysis.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, LS-DYNA, GT STRUDL, SASSI, SolidWorks, and/or SUPERPIPE.
  • Have or be working towards obtaining your Professional Engineer license within 1 year.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and AISC Steel Construction Manual.
  • Nuclear Industry experience.
  • Strong communication and technical writing abilities.
