Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometric Technician to join our team at Target Optical. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring all patients receive the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests promptly and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive experience.
  • Determine the reason for the guest's visit and explain how to shop at Target Optical.
  • Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, identifying special needs and consulting with Opticians, Doctors, or Retail Management as necessary.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly, despite time pressure and guest volume.
  • Identify situations involving unsatisfied guests and act quickly for resolution.
  • Handle and file patient records in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Place contact lens orders, process shipments, and submit invoices for payment.
  • Operate the POS system, collecting proper payment and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including displays and inventory.
  • Inform management of potential safety opportunities and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of strong guest service skills (internal/external)
  • High School Graduate/GED or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of store merchandise
  • Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in guest service, retail, or optical
