Job Summary

As a Flight Nurse with Air Evac Lifeteam, you will provide direct patient care in accordance with GMR protocols and/or medical direction. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our medical crew and hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
  • Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences to maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills.
  • Collaborate with the medical crew to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in an ALS or critical care setting required.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel within the region of assignment.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The working conditions and physical demands of this role include:

  • Required to work frequently near moving mechanical parts.
  • Required to work in outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles.
  • Frequently exposed to vibrations/turbulence.
  • Exposed to loud noise levels requiring headphones while in-flight and at a moderate level when in a hospital environment.
  • Frequently required to travel within the region of assignment.

This role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance and possess the gross and fine motor skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient care.
