Vighter is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Provider / Psychiatrist to join our team at the Eloy Detention Center in Eloy, AZ.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients, including diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient interviews, medical history reviews, and mental status examinations.
- Diagnose mental health disorders based on DSM-5 criteria and other relevant classification systems.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications to treat mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and others.
- Provide psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other evidence-based approaches.
- Collaborate with patients to set treatment goals and monitor progress over time.
- Provide emergency psychiatric care, including risk assessments and crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Develop and implement safety plans for patients at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
- Coordinate with emergency services and hospital staff when inpatient care or hospitalization is necessary.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or equivalent.
- Current and valid medical license to practice in Louisiana.
- One year experience as a Licensed Practicing Psychiatrist.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care settings is preferred.
