Position Overview:


Summit BHC is a leading provider of behavioral health services dedicated to delivering exceptional mental health care. We are seeking a Medical Director who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and operational efficiency within our facilities.


The Medical Director will be tasked with overseeing the medical management of our behavioral health services, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the medical staff, ensuring the delivery of quality psychiatric care.
  • Supervise clinical practices and provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Develop and implement medical protocols in alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safety and effectiveness of all clinical services provided.
  • Act as a liaison between medical staff and administrative teams to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor compliance with medical policies and procedures, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Participate in the training and development of clinical staff.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with mental health disorders, prescribing appropriate treatments and medications.
Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) with completed psychiatric residency training.
  • Minimum of one year of post-graduate practice experience preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment is an advantage.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of operation.
  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification in a behavioral health specialty.
  • Current DEA credentials for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Certification in CPR and de-escalation techniques (training provided upon hire).
