Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including placement of IVs.
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, and other related duties.
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified, or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible with temporary state license required.
  • CT registry eligible within one year, with advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in CT required by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure and to function without direct supervision.
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
