Scaffold Builder Position

RQ Construction is seeking a skilled Scaffold Builder to join our team at the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base. As a Scaffold Builder, you will be responsible for constructing and dismantling scaffolding structures while adhering to safety guidelines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with material handling, tools organization, and site cleanup. You will work closely with experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in scaffold assembly techniques and best practices. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in construction practices and safety protocols. Proficiency in tasks such as building and breaking down scaffolding, reading blueprints and drawings, measuring and cutting materials accurately, and operating power tools is essential. Attention to detail and the ability to follow safety regulations diligently are key attributes for success in this role. A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position. One or more years of experience with scaffolding is required, and two or more years of field or trade work experience in commercial construction is preferred. CPR and First Aid Certifications are preferred, as well as specific training or certificates in forklift/manlift training, fall protection, scissor lift/boom lift, OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour, trenching & shoring, confined space training, and lockout/tagout. Manufacturer Certifications for each type of Scaffold used on project(s) are also required. Per contract stipulations, access to SUBASE Kings Bay is limited to United States citizens only.
