Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider position at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a critical role in providing high-quality patient care across the continuum of the multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Palliative Care & Rehabilitation Medicine team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive symptom assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough symptom assessments using physical exam skills and assessment tools.
  • Participate in developing treatment plans with the team physicians.
  • Collect and document patient data in the medical record.
  • Utilize organizational skills to ensure continuity of care across the continuum.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, emphasizing comfort and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to plan, educate, and coordinate services.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
Additional Information

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is an equal employment opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. This position is exempt from overtime pay and requires a regular work week. The salary range is $115,000 - $173,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
