Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with cancer, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status assessments.
  • Identify normal and abnormal health characteristics, and develop and implement treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with our team to provide high-quality patient care, including ordering diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures.
  • Develop and manage radiation clinical treatment plans, monitor outcomes, and initiate appropriate care.
  • Provide education and counseling services to patients, families, and groups to meet their needs, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Function as a preceptor for APP orientees on the assigned service, actively participating in the orientation process.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program or Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
  • Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, if working in the Pediatrics department.
