Eligibility Criteria:
- Must not have more than two separate incidents involving violations of Federal Aviation regulations in the past five years.
- Possession of a valid State driver's license is required.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- No history of chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could impact job performance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Medical Requirements: Candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties associated with the Aviation Safety Inspector role safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodations. Minimum medical standards include:
- Good distant vision in each eye, with the ability to read printed materials without strain (corrective lenses are acceptable).
- The ability to hear conversational speech (hearing aids are permitted).
- No physical conditions that could pose a risk to oneself or others, particularly in relation to operating or occupying flight deck observer seats or cabin passenger seats in various aircraft.
Specialized Experience and Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG-9, FG-11, or FG-12 level. This experience should illustrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful performance in this role. Candidates should provide examples of their specialized experience in their work history.
Additional Requirements:
- At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight.
- A minimum of three years of experience within an organization holding an air carrier, commercial operator, or air agency certificate, with at least one year in an organization operating multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds maximum takeoff weight.
- A total of at least 1,500 flight hours is required.
- Must possess a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
- No more than two flying accidents in the last five years attributable to pilot error.
Specialized Experience Levels:
- FG-12 Level: Involves a wide range of assignments or a few highly complex tasks, requiring the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and work independently.
- FG-11 Level: Encompasses assignments with broad responsibilities, greater variety, and some ambiguity in guidelines.
- FG-09 Level: Involves familiar aircraft, facilities, and equipment, typically under specific guidelines to ensure compliance.
