Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the team at Oklahoma City Inc. as an Electrical Inspector I. As an Electrical Inspector I, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations. You will work independently to assess the overall condition of electrical systems and identify any potential hazards or defects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations
  • Assess the overall condition of electrical systems and identify any potential hazards or defects
  • Communicate with citizens, contractors, building owners or managers, and departmental personnel concerning relevant aspects of work performed
  • Work with minimal supervision and demonstrate responsible behavior
  • Interpret, explain, and apply knowledge of electrical codes to work performed
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the current adopted Oklahoma City Electrical Codes and Standards
  • Knowledge of proper materials and devices used in electrical construction
  • Knowledge of and skill in following safety procedures
  • Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and drawings
  • Skill in assessing the overall condition of different electrical systems
  • Skill in using standard office equipment
  • Skill in recording information accurately
  • Skill in communicating verbally and in writing using tact and diplomacy
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a variety of environments, including inside and outside, and may involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and other weather conditions. You may also be required to work at heights, near moving machinery, and in areas with loud noises.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to bend, twist, climb, and reach out to perform duties such as conducting inspections. You must also have arm-hand steadiness, manual dexterity, and finger dexterity to perform duties such as operating manual and power tools.

Education and Experience

A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Contractor or Electrical Inspector is required. You must also possess a current State of Oklahoma Electrical Journeyman License and a current State of Oklahoma Electrical Inspector License.
