Job Description

This position is the battery mechanical engineer for the local EV project, responsible for coordinating all development and release aspects for the mechanical parts inside the local produced high voltage battery system. The successful candidate will work closely with local partners (Production/Purchasing/Quality/Suppliers) and counterparts in Germany to ensure project delivery and milestones.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a deep technical understanding of current products planned for North America.
  • Identify potential gaps to ensure market requirements are included for products delivered to and built within the North American Region.
  • Manage localized parts from a technical perspective, ensuring engineering samples and mass production meet project requirements.
  • Work closely with purchasing and battery production line teams to ensure parts localization and industrialization meet overall EV and battery system timelines and quality goals.
  • Manage local parts suppliers from a technical perspective, ensuring technical requirements are fully understood and met, conducting necessary evaluations and tests.
  • Support high voltage battery pack integration into vehicles and involve in aftersales diagnostic and troubleshooting if needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical vehicle system development or vehicle systems mechanical design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering required; Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering desired.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, highly organized, good time management, communication skills, computer savvy, integration, influencing and negotiation skills, resource management, German and/or Spanish skills written and verbal advantageous.
