Key Responsibilities
The Nursing Manager for the Emergency Department oversees the daily operations and coordination of all activities within the department. This role includes supervising and evaluating the performance of the nursing staff, collaborating with physicians, hospital personnel, external agencies, patients, and their families to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Must possess a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
3. A minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience is essential.
4. Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
6. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
7. At least three years of continuous clinical experience in an acute care setting is necessary.
8. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
