Job Summary

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Counselor to provide psychological services to students, including brief individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and referral to psychiatric and medical resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal counseling (individual and group) to help students identify and understand personal issues affecting their quality of life and/or education.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date files, written reports, and job-related data commensurate with current standards of the profession and professional discipline standards.
  • Develop and implement programs and workshops, outreach, and liaison activities designed to foster student success.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a networking relationship with community referral resources.
  • Consult with university staff, faculty, students, and other professionals to support students.
  • Understand and comply with relevant FERPA and HIPAA standards.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or mental health counseling, qualified to independently provide counseling/therapy in Washington State.
  • Washington State License.
  • Preferred: Doctoral Degree in psychology, counseling, or social work, qualified to independently provide counseling/therapy in Washington State.
  • 4-6 years of experience working with adults.
  • Preferred: Experience working with high-achieving, graduate students in professional health sciences programs.
