Foster Farms is seeking a highly skilled FSQA Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Food Safety and Quality Assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and administer the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Directly supervise and guide hourly FSQA team members at the processing plant, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Assess and problem-solve food safety and quality issues within the facility, making sound judgments regarding food safety risks and product quality defects.
- Communicate non-conformances to FSQA and operations management in a timely manner, and work with senior FSQA management to render decisions regarding product disposition.
- Interface with USDA/FSIS personnel for regulatory non-compliance resolution and information requests, providing communication support to production management team.
- BS Degree in Food Science, Meat/Animal Science, or related science field preferred.
- Previous exposure to food processing, food safety, and/or quality programs is preferred.
- Previous experience with HACCP, SSOP programs, and/or FSIS food safety regulations is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with analytical aptitude, and proficient use of Microsoft including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel for limited business-related visits or conferences.
