Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Polymer Chemist to join our team at the Dexcom Mesa facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of polymer synthesis, including working with large reactors, size reduction technologies, and extrusion. You will also provide support and guidance to lab technicians, perform analysis of polymerization operations, and assist in process development and validation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain large-scale polymer synthesis equipment, including reactors and extruders.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize polymer production and quality.
  • Perform analytical testing and characterization of polymers using techniques such as GPC, titration, and FTIR.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of production activities, including in-process test results and deviations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in polymer synthesis and production, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, including step-growth polymerization and reaction mass balancing.
  • Experience with extrusion compounding and GMP/GLP environments is a plus.
