Your Role
This position involves managing appointment scheduling and performing medical assistant duties within a clinical environment. You will provide personalized, direct patient care under the guidance of a licensed healthcare professional and support the execution of healthcare services.

Qualifications
Education:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of a Medical Assistant training program

Experience:
Preferred: Relevant experience in a clinical or medical office environment

Certifications:
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred: Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification)

Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and patient information retrieval
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to various individuals throughout the patient care process
- Skills to effectively respond to inquiries from patients and customers
- Capacity to collaborate with other departments
- Sound judgment in managing challenging situations

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, guests, and family members
- Ensure all necessary patient forms are completed accurately
- Efficiently input patient demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect payments
- Conduct vital signs and screenings, including height, weight, allergy, and medication history
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing their questions
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments via phone or in person, ensuring accurate information transfer
- Adapt communication style and approach to meet the needs of diverse patient populations

Work Environment:
This role may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. The incumbent will work in a patient care area and may encounter communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
