Quality Assurance Specialist Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products meet customer specifications and industry standards. This role involves a comprehensive review of purchase orders and technical documentation to guarantee compliance with quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer purchase order specifications for accuracy and completeness.
- Interpret and apply international standards including ASME, ASTM, ANSI, and SAE.
- Examine drawings produced by Energy Steel to confirm they meet quality and customer criteria.
- Approve work order instructions, ensuring they incorporate necessary quality standards.
- Create specific job instructions and procedural guidelines.
- Assess documentation for adherence to order specifications and quality requirements.
- Ensure all inspection and testing milestones are completed as per shop traveler documentation.
- Document and manage nonconformance issues and corrective actions.
- Compile final documentation and certification packages for product shipments.
- Support other departments with quality-related inquiries.
- Provide after-hours support for urgent quality assurance matters.
- Assist the Director of Quality during audits and inspections.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience in quality assurance verification.
- High school diploma or GED with at least six months of relevant experience.
- Completion of college coursework leading to an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Desired skills include NDE qualifications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
