SUMMARY

The CMM/ In-Process Quality Inspector plays a vital role in the manufacturing team, tasked with the evaluation and oversight of processes that uphold the standards of the Quality Assurance department at Kimber Manufacturing.

This position collaborates with various teams and departments to ensure the fulfillment of quality objectives set forth by management.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interpret technical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance CMM methodologies and protocols.
  • Assess offsets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct diverse inspections including initial, in-process, and final evaluations.
  • Perform thorough inspections of firearms through visual, functional, and safety assessments.
  • Create standard operating procedures, setup documentation, and operational guidelines for production tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Make informed decisions regarding product quality and disposition.
  • Exhibit expertise in surface plate layout techniques utilizing a variety of measuring instruments.
  • Identify issues and devise corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Adhere to and supervise standard operating procedures.
  • Comprehend and learn the functionality of inspected products.
  • Effectively communicate discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Input all necessary data accurately into the manufacturing database.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.



QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of firearms, including quality and safety features.
  • A proven track record of at least 5 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with professionalism and integrity.
  • Capacity to operate efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience working autonomously with minimal supervision.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred:

  • Vocational or Technical Degree.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications.


LANGUAGE & REASONING SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret quality performance reports and formulate solutions. Capable of presenting information effectively to various audiences.

This role requires strong reasoning skills, including data collection, following instructions, and performing both complex and repetitive tasks.



COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word within the MS Windows environment, with knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Outlook.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel may be necessary for this position.



OTHER SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT

Regular attendance is crucial, including the ability to work scheduled hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.

This role requires teamwork across departments or independent work to meet customer satisfaction.

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with exposure to manufacturing conditions.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, including talking, hearing, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.



WORK AUTHORIZATION

Compliance with ITAR regulations is necessary. Candidates must be classified as a "U.S. Person" as per ITAR requirements.
