Job Overview

At Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics, we're pushing the boundaries of retail innovation. Our team is responsible for developing cutting-edge technologies that transform the shopping experience. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of functional emulation solutions for simulating Robotics Control Systems.

This role requires collaboration with the software leadership team to define software requirements and drive operational and technical projects forward. The primary objective is to develop a high-quality software product that enables us to test our robotics systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust software architectures for emulation products
  • Lead the full software development life cycle, prioritizing and executing tasks efficiently
  • Develop tools and applications using clean, efficient code
  • Automate tasks using appropriate tools and scripting
  • Review and debug code, ensuring high-quality standards
  • Perform validation and verification testing to ensure software integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fix and improve products
  • Document development phases and monitor systems
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and ensure software is current

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in software development, scripting, and project management
  • Experience using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of selected programming languages and the Java/J2EE platform
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience building microservices on Cloud Platform, such as Azure/AWS
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with various operating systems
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
