As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will deliver safe and proficient quality care grounded in nursing principles and research to a specific group of patients and their families. Your responsibilities include providing patient care by embracing the principles of Relationship-Centered Care and utilizing the nursing process informed by theory, research, evidence-based practices, and established organizational nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patient care requirements.
- Employ critical thinking skills in managing patient care.
- Integrate assessment and intervention techniques in nursing care delivery.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to formulate, execute, and assess the care plan.
- Prioritize all facets of patient care, including education, rounding, coaching, and planning for post-hospital care, while delegating tasks as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating their needs and readiness to learn about their care plan, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current RN License in New York State.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- A minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
- Experience with the Epic system is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred; an Associate degree in nursing may be considered with relevant experience.
Work Environment:
This position is fully on-site in a hospital setting.

This role operates in a dynamic environment with an initial training and orientation session. Nurses are expected to perform their duties efficiently, with shifts typically covering 12 hours, three times a week, including both day and night shifts based on preference.
