As we expand our recycling and waste management capabilities, we collect additional materials to enhance our circularity initiatives. Furthermore, our environmental solutions drive new opportunities to serve our existing recycling and waste customers.

ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS
Our extensive environmental solutions enable clients to manage their most complex waste streams safely. We recognize significant growth potential in our offerings, particularly in PFAS remediation, which is increasingly in demand.

SUSTAINABILITY INNOVATION
Recent innovations at Republic highlight our unique capacity to leverage sustainability as a growth platform. The Republic Services Polymer Center, the nation's first integrated plastics recycling facility, processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that support true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We have also established Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that further process plastic materials from our Polymer Centers, addressing the rising demand for sustainable packaging.

As the demand for renewable energy grows, we currently operate 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects and aim to expand this portfolio to 115 projects.

ROLE OF THE DIVISION ACCOUNTANT
The Division Accountant plays a crucial role in executing accounting activities to accurately record, analyze, and monitor financial data. This position is responsible for preparing financial reports that ensure compliance with company accounting policies.

The Division Accountant will:
  • Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries and document business transactions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
  • Assist the Business Unit Finance Manager in maintaining proper internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley, and all statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Support the Business Unit Finance Manager during the annual budget and interim forecasting process.
  • Assist with periodic financial audits, including internal and external audits.

Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel at an intermediate level. The ability to independently manage projects and assignments is essential, along with experience in general ledger software and accounting programs. A minimum of 2 years in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
