We are seeking a highly skilled Security Firmware Engineer to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our firmware development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security features for our SSD products.
Key Responsibilities- Security Feature Development: Develop and integrate various cryptography-based security features, including data encryption, Secure Boot, and Device Attestation, into our SSD data and control flows.
- Security Protocol Integration: Investigate and resolve any security protocol compatibility issues that may arise, ensuring a robust and secure system.
- Issue Investigation and Resolution: Investigate failures, document bug reports, and provide valuable assistance to product teams in identifying and resolving issues.
- Firmware Development and Validation: Debug, optimize, and validate firmware on SoC platforms, as well as bring up FPGA and ASIC.
- Security Development Lifecycle: Contribute to the Security Development Lifecycle of the Firmware by supporting its development at different stages, including design, threat analysis, implementation, validation, vulnerability testing, certification, and audit.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong understanding of cryptography and security protocols
- Experience with firmware development and validation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
