Job Description

Western Digital is seeking a highly skilled Security Firmware Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our firmware development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure firmware solutions for our storage products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate cryptography-based security features into our firmware
  • Investigate and resolve security protocol compatibility issues
  • Debug and optimize firmware on SoC platforms
  • Contribute to the Security Development Lifecycle of our firmware

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in embedded programming
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and one or more of the following: Python, Rust, Go
  • Experience in firmware code review and CI/CD test and validation methodology
  • Knowledge of RISC-V Instruction Set Architectures (ISA)
  • Technical expertise in applied cryptography and firmware/hardware security
