Position Overview:

As a Security Systems Installation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the setup, upkeep, and troubleshooting of security access systems within commercial and industrial environments. This role demands a solid grasp of electronic security technologies and the capability to operate autonomously or collaboratively to guarantee optimal performance and security for client facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install, program, and configure security access systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  2. Conduct site assessments to evaluate client requirements and develop tailored security access solutions.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair components of security access systems, including readers, controllers, and software interfaces.
  4. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as firmware updates, database management, and system backups, to ensure system reliability and security.
  5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians to synchronize installation schedules and project timelines.
  6. Provide training and technical assistance to clients and end-users regarding the operation and maintenance of security access systems.
  7. Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities in compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards.
  8. Stay informed about advancements in security access technology and suggest upgrades or enhancements to existing systems as necessary.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in electronics, security systems, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in installing and servicing security access systems, including familiarity with leading industry brands and manufacturers.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as travel to client sites may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, as necessary.
  • Capable of standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with integrated security systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.
  • Familiarity with networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and VLAN configurations.
  • Knowledge of security access standards and regulations, such as UL 294 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
