Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Automotive Body Repair Specialist is to deliver an outstanding customer experience through precise evaluation and quality restoration of vehicles to their pre-accident state. This role involves comprehensive disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicles, playing a crucial part in our commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Automotive Body Repair Specialist collaborates with team members to meet the repair facility's key performance indicators and embodies the values of The Boyd Group at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently implement the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Assess necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for clients.
  • Utilize various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
  • Address dents, dimples, and minor body damage using appropriate methods; apply filler resins when necessary.
  • Realign vehicle chassis and frames to rectify structural damage.
  • Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket components; repair or replace glass and windshields as required.
  • Replace or repair interior components as needed.
  • Weld and fit parts securely, preparing and repainting vehicles with factory-specified or equivalent paint.
  • Strive to complete work orders within established labor time guidelines and ensure all repairs are inspected for quality.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repair technician.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret job orders and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians in an auto body shop environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
  • Proficient in using the tools required for the trade.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to visually assess vehicle damage in diverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
