Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Chassis Upfit Specialist to join our team at Maintainer Corp of Iowa. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and knowledge in electrical wiring, assembly, and diagnostics to produce high-quality work that exceeds customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair complex issues. They will also be able to work effectively in a team environment and make routine decisions about quality and safety.

The following skills are required for this role:

  • Completes electrical wiring installation and modification on various chassis makes and models.
  • Knowledgeable with wiring 12 volts, 24 volts, 110 volts, and/or 240 volts.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and/or mechanical problems on all units.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of chassis model changes and updates.
  • Will utilize hand tools, power tools, and other specific equipment to perform assigned job.

Education and Experience:

Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Preferred: 3 – 4 years of related automotive/diesel mechanical training.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, and volume. Able to utilize tape measure and read electrical schematics and diagrams effectively.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to stand and use hands and fingers to grasp and hold objects, tools, and/or controls, likewise reach with arms and hands. Maintainer is a custom manufacturer which requires employees at times to work in awkward positions while performing these assigned duties. The employee is required to walk, sit, and talk or hear 8-9 hours per day. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is also at times exposed to fumes and/or airborne particulates.
