Chassis Electrical Specialist

This position involves utilizing experience and knowledge in the area of chassis electrical wiring, assembly, and diagnostics. Produces high-quality work to exceed customer expectations. Effectively works within a team environment and is capable of working with limited supervision, making routine decisions about quality and safety of work performed.
Key responsibilities include completing electrical wiring installation and modification on various chassis makes and models. Refers to blueprints, technical drawings, and written directions as needed. The ability to follow engineering schematics and unit-specific wiring diagrams is essential.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of wiring 12 volts, 24 volts, 110 volts, and/or 240 volts. Tests parts and associated systems to ensure they are working accurately.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and/or mechanical problems on all units. Recommends repairs to be completed by authorized chassis dealers as needed.
Maintains a working knowledge of chassis model changes and updates. Demonstrates an ability to continuously learn and adapt practices to fit changing makes/models of chassis.
The ideal candidate will utilize hand tools, power tools, and other specific equipment to perform assigned job.
Education, Reasoning Ability, and/or Experience:Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred: 3 – 4 years of related automotive/diesel mechanical training.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, and volume. Ability to utilize a tape measure and read electrical schematics and diagrams effectively.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands:Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to stand and use hands and fingers to grasp and hold objects, tools, and/or controls, likewise reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to walk, sit, and talk or hear 8-9 hours per day. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is also at times exposed to fumes and/or airborne particulates.
