Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at General Dynamics Land Systems. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for performing various machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, tapping, contouring, and more.

You will work with precision manufacturing equipment, entering revisions of programmed dimensions, feed rates, and spindle speeds on the machine console. Additionally, you will operate and understand measuring instruments, such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

The ideal candidate will have an intermediate to advanced manufacturing skill set, with a strong desire to contribute ideas and learn new skills. You will be a team player with a high mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and a detailed-oriented approach.

As a CNC Machinist at General Dynamics Land Systems, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the design, development, and production of tracked and wheeled military equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform various machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, tapping, contouring, and more.
  • Enter revisions of programmed dimensions, feed rates, and spindle speeds on the machine console.
  • Operate and understand measuring instruments, such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Identify and correct machining problems, such as improper depth, size, or location of holes and broken or worn tools.
  • Maintain tooling for the machine and ensure proper tool changing.
  • Clean and lubricate drilled holes, check critical part dimensions, and utilize gauges and other measuring devices during the machining process.
Requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced manufacturing skill set.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical Training/Certification from a licensed Technical or Trade School, preferably in Machining or 6 months experience, 1-2 years preferred.
  • Strong desire to contribute ideas and learn new skills.
  • High mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and a detailed-oriented approach.
