Executive Housekeeper Job Description

Gulf Shores Hampton Inn is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our team. As a key member of our hotel operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage housekeeping operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and implement improvements to maintain high standards.
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure effective stock and cost controls.
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, and policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and maintain high standards of fixtures, fittings, and appliances.
  • Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of the housekeeping team.
  • Ensure team members have up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities.
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure staffing levels cover business demands.
  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop the housekeeping team.
Requirements:
  • Housekeeping/laundry experience in the hotel/leisure/retail sector in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • A successful track record of managing a large team.
  • A high school certificate or equivalent.
  • High level of commercial awareness and cost control capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Excellent grooming standards.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, budget management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or materials.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to make repeated and continued movements of the shoulders, elbows, and hands.
