Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the maintenance department across multiple shifts.
  • Conduct inspections of the facility to assess the utilization of buildings, equipment, and overall space.
  • Evaluate assets to ensure they meet operational needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of equipment life cycles to recommend maintenance or replacement strategies.
  • Investigate equipment failures and analyze them in relation to expected performance timelines.
  • Maintain and monitor asset maintenance protocols.
  • Enhance equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Improve departmental responsiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Source, install, and configure new machinery as required.
  • Analyze various systems including HVAC, lighting, and network wiring.
  • Plan and budget for facility modifications, including cost estimates and project layouts.
  • Conduct audits to support effective facility planning.
  • Develop long-term strategies and documentation for facility improvements.
  • Coordinate program specifications and manage proposal requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
  • Monitor construction and installation to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Review contracts for adherence to governmental standards.
  • Oversee the allocation of building space and communication services.
  • Manage the Preventative Maintenance program to ensure timely inspections and servicing of all equipment.

Supervisory Duties:

This position involves managing supervisors and staff within the Facilities Maintenance Department. Responsibilities include directing the overall operations of this unit, conducting interviews, hiring, training employees, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and addressing any issues that arise.
