Role Overview

As a founding engineer, you will play a pivotal role in constructing a premier startup. You will influence the technical architecture of Valerie Health and propel both our product and business from initial concept to large-scale implementation. Your responsibilities will include leading the design and development of a resilient backend system, creating AI models across diverse applications (OCR, Voice, LLM, RPA) utilizing Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF), and crafting exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the team to define product, business, and organizational strategies. Contribute to shaping the company culture.
  • Develop a production-ready AI framework, integrating and optimizing models across voice, text, and desktop interfaces. Establish a reinforcement learning system with both internal and external human participants.
  • Take ownership of comprehensive product areas that cater to both external and internal users. Create user experiences that are empathetic and refined, setting a new standard in the industry.
  • Design, implement, and scale a HIPAA-compliant backend system that prioritizes security, availability, and performance.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Several years in software engineering with a solid foundation in computer science.
  • Experience in large technology firms or startups is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in developing end-to-end products.

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, with consideration for exceptional remote candidates.

Compensation: $125,000 - $200,000+
