The US division, Rohde & Schwarz USA (RSA), located in San Diego, CA, is in search of a proactive Protocol Application Engineer.


Job Overview:


As an Application Engineer at RSA, you will provide solutions to intricate challenges encountered by engineers and scientists engaged in advanced wireless applications.

Working alongside sales, marketing, and R&D teams, you will showcase products, deliver training, develop new functionalities, and offer technical assistance to a varied customer base across the US.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical advisor for wireless protocol testing
  • Support clients in formulating test strategies for 4G/5G protocols
  • Design, integrate, and maintain wireless protocol test scenarios
  • Analyze 3GPP Protocol Specifications
  • Provide on-site customer assistance both locally and internationally
  • Contribute innovative ideas for product and process enhancements as part of a global team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
  • Familiarity with mobile communication protocols such as 5G NR, LTE, etc.
  • Understanding of data-centric protocols like TCP/IP, RTP, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and perform under pressure
  • Knowledge of testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10-15%)
  • Must possess US citizenship or permanent work authorization
