Job Description

Genesis10 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Project Manager Consultant to join our team as a Global IT Portfolio Manager Consultant for a 6+ month contract position with a leading reinsurance company.

This is a hybrid position that requires being onsite 3 days per week. As a Portfolio Project Manager Consultant, you will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing all projects in IT concurrently, working in conjunction with the IT Portfolio Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quarterly Project Prioritization: Help produce quarterly project prioritization and create a system to promote organizational change.
  • Agile Team Collaboration: Work with Agile Teams, with SAFe certification a plus.
  • Best Practices and KPIs: Guide best practices, KPIs, and adherence to business pillars.
  • Business Acumen and Diplomacy: Be business savvy, diplomatic, and able to deal with challenging personalities, comfortable conducting presentations, self-starter, collaborative, confident but flexible.
  • Tool Experience: Experience with Align – part of Jira – a plus.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in FinTech and Tech fields, insurance not required.
  • Leadership Experience: 6-8 years of experience in hands-on planning, change management, product and/or project/program management.

This is a strategic and high-visibility role where you will be responsible for intake, prioritization, and planning for both horizontal and vertical requirements, including initiatives across different pillars/teams/businesses within the Global IT Group.

You will play a key role in guiding/coaching and recommending best-practice to ensure business efficiency, productivity, value, and delivery.

Requirements
  • Effective Communication: Be an effective communicator, highly detailed, and organized.
  • Analytical and Logistical Mindset: Have an analytical and logistical mindset and successfully bring Agile Release Train members together and have a shared understanding of Product strategy, vision, and needs.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Lead technology pillar leads at both the Vertical (product) and Horizontal (Data, Operations, Platforms) through intake, prioritization processes to ensure requirements are well defined, resources allocated, and deliverables are transparent/tracked.
  • Coaching and Prioritization: Coach teams through making prioritization decisions based on business needs/value, requirement readiness, effort, and resource allocations.
  • Increment Planning and Reporting: Manage monthly increment check-ins, retros, and reporting of progress, blockers, risks/challenges.

Required Skills/Expertise:

  • Increment Planning Experience: Experience with increment planning.
  • Increment Planning Coaching: Coaching experience with increment planning.
  • Agile/SAFe Product Delivery: Experience with Agile/SAFe product delivery, cross-functional prioritization.
  • Cross-Team Intake Processes: Experience with cross-team intake processes.
  • Enterprise Solution Delivery: Experience with enterprise solution delivery, reporting.
  • Product Increment Planning: Deep experience with product increment planning hard skills.
  • JIRA and Align: Deep experience with JIRA (Epics, Stories/Tasks), Align (Program Management) and Miro (Increment Planning/Intake).
