We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Elementary Paraprofessional to join our team at Soliant. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional activities and adapting materials to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, implementing behavior management strategies and supporting students in developing social and academic skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating observations and concerns with teachers and other staff members.
- Support students during daily activities, including transitions, meals, and recess.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans.
- Education: Associates degree or higher, or a high school diploma with successful completion of a paraprofessional certification program (meets Rhode Island state requirements).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with high needs populations in an educational or related setting.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with students with diverse needs, and proficiency in implementing behavior management techniques.
- Certification: Paraprofessional Certification as required by Rhode Island state law.
